Learning and Fun at PazNaz MOPS Workshops

PazNaz MOPS moms attended informative mini-workshops led by four of our own members at the March 30th MOPS meeting. Kari gave us cookie decorating tips; Alice taught us how to crochet an infinity scarf; Jayme discussed relationships and redeeming conversations; and Dene showed us strengthening exercises for our backs and necks.

Our Minute to Win It games involved spontaneous love song medleys and word games. The winners won prizes donated by Claudie Willig (a 30% off coupon for her Busy Bee business, which offers handcrafted hooded towels, crayon rolls, and receiving blankets) and Kim Darlas, who donated Jamba Juices from G3 Academy of Martial Arts and Wellness. See the MTWI Page on the right for more information.

Speaker Margo Pehlivanos, Executive Director of Sunrise Preschool, talked to us about Kindergarten Readiness, and how we can help our children thrive in school by making the decision about entering kindergarten based on readiness and not necessarily age. Two important signs of readiness are independence and focus. If your child is academically ready for kindergarten, but he/she is distracted, unfocused, and not independent, "giving a child a year of playtime can be the biggest gift," Margo says.

Join us at next MOPS on April 20th as we enjoy a catered breakfast and time to talk and connect with other moms during Tea & Testimony.
