Momsense and Faith

Last MOPS, our coordinator teasingly challenged PazNaz's Senior Pastor Dr. T. Scott Daniels to tell us all about Christianity in 45 minutes or less.  Luckily, Pastor Scott has a great sense of humor.  While he didn't take Jayme's dare, he did give us some wonderful food for thought.

Pastor Scott started with the creation story, which he summarized in three words: separation, filling and blessing.  In the first three days, God separates light from dark, sea from sky, and water from land.  On Days 4 through 6, he fills the world with the sun, moon and stars; fish and birds, and animals and humankind.  The 7th day is the Sabbath, God's blessing.  God does the same with his people, says Pastor Scott.  Think of Abraham or Moses - they were separated out from other people, filled with God's spirit, and then through Him, the world was blessed.

God tends to pick the unexpected and unlikely people to do his good work, explained Pastor Scott.  God does things through us that we can't do on our own.  And God isn't going to quit until things are the way he wants them to be.  Thank God for that!

This meeting's Minute to Win It Sponsor for the first game was Rita Otth, who provides private lessons on making fashion sense.  Katherine's group won a session about updating wardrobes for Spring 2012.

Our other MTWI sponsor was Katherine Lippincott, a 3rd-generation realtor for the Lippincott Group. The moms at Sona's table, who won the second game, each received a reusable tote bag and delicious hard candies.  Please see the Minute to Win It Sponsor Page on the right for more information.

Blow the ping pong ball into the competition's box first to win!

Towards the end of the morning, moms got to indulge in a little shopping therapy.  Our book/media sale brought in $120, which will be used towards MOPS scholarhships, arts/crafts and MOPPET childcare.  Thanks for your dollars!

Join us next MOPS as we meet a few Dads and Granddads who are willing to share their parenthood stories and answer our dad-related questions.  See you on March 2nd!
